I only found the schematics for Caerme before going to the mage summit (I did not know the point of no return here, so I ended up saving Saskia). Then a short-lived romp by the Sword of the Dun Banner, finally replaced by Gwyhyr.Ĭh.3: Replaced Gwyhyr late into the chapter. Speaking of swords, not counting testing out the Dark swords, I rarely changed my set-up for most of the game!Ĭh.1: Witcher's Silver Sword, then upgraded to Superb Witcher's Silver Sword.Ĭh.2: The Witcher's Silver Sword (unupgraded) served me well into the final moments of that chapter, only replacing it with Harpy (since I chose Iorveth).Ĭh.3: Replaced it with Deithwen and never looked back!Ĭh.2: Replaced Jagged Blade early with Princess Xenthia's Sword, since it's a side reward for the Poker Quest. If I have Whetstone, Rook and Thunderbolt, even the huge golems die in one hit! In DARK MODE! With just a 3-Fire Deithwen! Kinda like a revers-Siegfried moment right there. I am giddy with the thought of seeing my end-game build in action (skill reset, notwithstanding)! Or probably even stack Rook and Thunderbolt, seeing as I have +55% Vigor Regen while poisoned. Ch.3: Replaced it with Deithwen and never looked back Steel: Ch. Ch.2: The Witcher's Silver Sword (unupgraded) served me well into the final moments of that chapter, only replacing it with Harpy (since I chose Iorveth). And once I get it properly up and running, I can probably replace Rook with Thunderbolt as my main Damage potion. Ch.1: Witcher's Silver Sword, then upgraded to Superb Witcher's Silver Sword. So much damage and defense offered just for drinking one potion. My current build at lvl 21 has three points in Swordsman (Riposte, Footwork and Position: Skills I can't live without regardless of build) and I plan on getting to the end of both Alchemy and Sword trees without investing in signs. Now that I did, and started filling in my mutagen slots with Power Mutagens, I don't think I'll ever be able to play again without significant investment in it. I really didn't take much notice of the Alchemy tree in my first playthrough, since I didn't bother to look up what "poisoned" mean (basically, when it comes to the alchemy tree, "poisoned" means having gulped at least one potion). It makes the game much closer to what being a witcher would be like, AND because the game gives you barely any experience for killing stuff, you don't feel forced into taking a violent path because you want to level up faster.I don't think I'll be able to play without Alchemy (Tree) anymore One of the best examples is the Troll Contract in Chapter 1. In the first game you would just go out and kill X number of monster Y and collect enough of body part Z to give to the quest giver in exchange for your reward.īut in this game, not only are there different ways of doing those contracts, like with grapeshot bombing nests or using harpy traps, there are also contract quests where you don't have to kill any monsters. The player faces complex scenarios which often require choosing between the lesser of two evils decisions have dramatic, unexpected consequences. But another thing I liked about TW2 is that there is variety in "Witcher's Contracts" quests. This spectacular debut by CD Projekt RED is a third-person role-playing game inspired by the fantasy novels by Polish writer Sapkowski. This is a list of notable video game companies that have made games for either computers (like PC or Mac), video game consoles, handheld or mobile devices. You're to help him capture a keep where he's to 'rescue' his children - Boussy and Anas. You are under the command of the king Foltest, whom you've saved from an assassin, thus he places his trust in you. I also found TW2 to be much better in regards to quests. The game picks its story up some time after the events of the first Witcher game. And I bet you will miss some of the complex quests of The Witcher. Each quest will only appear in the Chapter where it originally appeared, even if the quest persists through more than one Chapter. This page is a finding aid which lists all quests in The Witcher first by Chapter, and then alphabetically. It's quests are a lot more linear, easier, simpler."streamlined" so to speak. Armor provides Geralt with protection from damage during combat. GODzillaGSPB: Mhm.well if you like to call it so, yes, then the Witcher 2 is better in this way.
